Nicole is a young, talented upcoming belly dancer in the West Coast dance scene, currently performing professionally all around the Bay Area when she isn?t in her hometown of Seattle. From when she started studying belly dance at the age of 15, Nicole has been lucky enough to experience wonderful teachers throughout her career, including the legendary Delilah, Dahlia Moon, Suhaila, and the wonderful Amina Goodyear.

True Egyptian style belly dance to beautiful golden-age Arabic music is Nicole?s true passion, and the source of her love of dance. Inspired by the stars of Cairo cinema, such as Suheir Zaki, Tahiya Carioca, and Samia Gamal, she strives to create an authentic and moving performance by embracing the music, finding the meaning and utilizing the translations of lyrics to bring her audience deeper into the joy of dance. Nicole?s peers have often commented on her good taste in Arabic music, her curiosity to understand on a scholarly level about the history, language, and culture of belly dance, and her ability to connect with musicians. Brought up as a dancer performing almost always to live music has been a blessing for Nicole, and she loves nothing more than dancing accompanied by her favorite artists, which she carries over in her emotive, yet playful style.

In addition to her Egyptian dance work, Nicole is much admired for her Khaliji dancing (from the gulf region), as well as her Egyptian and Lebanese folk dancing. She has also been studying Argentine Tango and plans to pursue some fusion work in the future.

Currently Nicole is attending college in the Bay Area working towards a degree in International Relations, before going on to a Master?s in Business Administration. She will be spending a year in Egypt starting in the fall of 2009 to work on her Arabic language skills, and to study, but secretly to soak up all the belly dancing there that she can!

In the last year Nicole has also begun to use her costuming skills for other dancers, creating beautiful, head-turning outfits. Her costuming is outrageous, eccentric, and always draws from the latest styles in Egypt. Please visit the costuming page for more information!
